Experience
I grew up in a bilingual household in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Later, I moved to the U.S. to attend Choate Rosemary Hall, a prep school in Wallingford, Connecticut. Following high school, I attended Lewis & Clark College, where I received a Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs. I continued my studies at Lewis & Clark Graduate School of Education, where I became certified to teach middle school and high school. Currently, I live in Sherwood, Oregon. I tutor all levels of English, Reading, Writing, College Essays, Public Speaking, and Spanish. My teaching philosophy is more of a humanistic approach, where special emphasis is given to thinking critically and the context of the material. I encourage my students to use their natural talents and abilities, and I work hard to make lessons interesting and relatable to everyday life. I build a positive relationship with my students so they see me as more than just a tutor. Outside of teaching and tutoring, I enjoy reading, gardening, and cooking.
